Asa the EP Project

'Asa' is a Beautiful Igbo dame personified in a queen, such as Madarocka Chi, aka African Queen of Hip Hop. Tracks featured include 'I Be Lady', a Fela Kuti inspired hip hop track created by Mista Books, MC and rapper from Enugwu State, Nigeria. This song was a recreation of a Madarocka song which was nominated in 2007 for a NEA award. 'The song 'King of Boys', also produced by Books was inspired by the streets of Lagos and the movie by female director Kemi Adetiba to commemorate strength in our African women. 'Bad Boys Like', was written for my popular and beautiful DC sisters and was inspired by a studio session with Nigeria's Samklef who created Wizkid's first hit. He was pulling out the girly side from a normally revolutionary and conscious Femcee. Oh yes, this Lady MC is 'Hip Hop Royalty' and that beat by FinS the CEO, original producer of Toronto's The Rascals! Produced by DJ WillieO, 'Cha'llum' meaning in Igbo dialect 'come out for road, or clear the way" (intro video shot in her true motherland in Imo State). Nigeria's original 1st Lady of the hip hop culture is ready to take her stand and attract the 'Ego' that is her right. Ego means cash in her native ancestors Igbo dialect. That song was also produced byToronto's FinS the CEO.

Madarocka plans to release this project to attract a new audience and inspire other female MCs to spring up out of Africa. Nigerian female MCs have all seemed to fade off the scene in the recent years. This Lady Rocka uses her podium as an MC to empower the youth back home in her indigenous country of Nigeria. With lines like, " blood is hot, so we need reparations from the East, so sweet, I'm a take them, with the body of a Goddess, I'm a rape them. ....might be naked" Who says you have to strip naked to be a hard core female MC? Dispelling the rumors that she sounds like Lil Kim, Madarocka tells the world her story with international language versatility, classic flows and a slick delivery. Often called a man in a skirt, this lady has a really powerful tone and a husky voice.
